Eckerd College senior Damone Morris, playing in his final regular season game for the Tritons, nailed a halfcourt shot as time expired to send his Tritons to an unbelievable 66-64 win over Rollins College on Saturday night in Sunshine State Conference action from a jubilant McArthur Center.
The Tritons (19-8, 11-5 SSC) looked to have control as time wound down when senior Jason Rudakas stepped to the foul line with 14 seconds left and EC up by one. Rudakas missed the back-end of his two free throw chances which was rebounded by the Tars. Rollins (19-8, 8-8 SSC) set up a quick play th
at saw junior center Craig Reichel connect on his fourth trey of the game with only four seconds left. Undaunted, the Tritons quickly inbounded the ball to Morris, who dribbled around a couple Tars, approached the halfcourt stripe and let it fly.
